Plateful Cafe is a charity connecting refugees and the local people through a shared love of good food.Our mission is to empower refugees in south-east London through hospitality training and jobs in a refugee-led cafe.We run a cafe at Parkside Community Centre, SE10 8FY on Thursdays, Fridays (9.30-3pm) and on Saturdays 12-6pm offering breakfast, lunch and twice a month community dinners. We also sell jams, condiments, arts and crafts and paintings by local refugees in the cafe, online and through local independent shops and offer catering for private events, private dining. We are currently employing 7 chefs from Syria and Iran and our menu reflects those countries cuisines.

In the cafe we also sell products made by local refugees such as jams, arts and crafts and paintings.
We also cater for private events and offer private dining and run market stalls at different locations.
We are currently working with refugees from Syria and Iran featuring their dishes in our menu.
We offer volunteering opportunities to asylum-seekers both front and back of the house.
We run a 8 weeks hospitality training programme where the trainees, join a friendly team gaining:
UK work experience
Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene qualification
Professional reference
English speaking practice
A foundation course in working in a community cafe
Trainees also gain 1:1 help towards long-term employment goals including signposting to extra training, advice looking for jobs with a local employer and well being support.
