Drive Forward Foundation

Drive Forward Foundation is a London-based charity enabling care-experienced individuals aged 16 to 26 to achieve their full potential through sustainable and fulfilling employment. We offer tailored 1-2-1 support, intensive employability skills training, and exclusive opportunities through our employer partners. Our holistic approach also includes bespoke counselling and in-work mentoring.

The number of children and young people in care in England increased by over 65% since 1990. Today, there are close to 85,000 children and young people in care. 1 in 5 care leavers will experience homelessness at some point in their lives. Close to 40% of care-experienced young people aged 19-21 are not in employment, education, or training.

Since 2010, focusing solely on London's care-experienced youth, our charity has developed a successful model emphasising trusted relationships, trauma-informed working, and collaboration across services. In 2022, our team worked with over 600 young people, 45% of which moved into employment, education, and training, including some 150 full-time jobs as well as 70 opportunities offered through our employer partner network.
